Berman Larson Kane Selected as One of the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey

Berman Larson Kane was recently selected as one of the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey for 2007. This award program, created by NJBIZ, was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in New Jersey program is made up of 50 companies split into two groups: 25 medium-sized companies (25-249 employees) and 25 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees). Berman Larson Kane has been named one of the 25 Best Places to Work in New Jersey in the medium-sized category.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Have at least 25 employees in New Jersey
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business
  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Have a facility in New Jersey

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in New Jersey with assistance from ModernThink LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

BLK was chosen for this award because our entire corporate culture is predicated on work/life balance, professional development and personal growth. Every employee is given a 100% company-paid gym membership and a one-and-one-half hour lunch break in which to use it. Parents work around their children’s school schedules or telecommute and are encouraged to attend performances and sporting events. We hold quarterly and annual social events involving spouses, children, and even pets! In addition, our employees contribute to our community in a variety of ways. We’ve organized a major blood drive, sponsored many sports teams and developed a Career Workshop and support group for the unemployed.

Berman Larson Kane will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in New Jersey evening awards ceremony on Monday, April 16, 2007, at the Hilton East Brunswick. We would like to thank all of our valued clients and candidates for their support and business. Without your faith in our firm, none of our achievements would be possible.

News from BLK

BLK is pleased to announce a new service we’ve added to our portfolio of staffing options. One of our senior level recruiters, Yesenia Casallas, is available to provide professional interview coaching to candidates prior to meeting with a client. This program has been extremely well received and we encourage our candidates to take advantage of this opportunity.

April is a very busy month for Bob Larson, CPC, who will be the NAPS featured speaker at a number of professional conferences across the country, including the Texas Association of Personnel Consultants in Dallas, the New England Association of Personnel Consultants in Hartford, CT., and the InterCity Personnel Associates in New York City.
