Today’s Job Numbers & BLK

Today’s employment numbers confirmed what we have been experiencing here at Berman Larson Kane (www.jobsbl.com) a pick up in direct hire employment.  This is better news than we’ve been experiencing during the past several years, but should not be confused with a “good” employment market.  According the report we still have a 17.5 million people unemployed or under employed and my feeling is this is a underestimate of the real picture.

As we project forward for March and the second quarter of 2011 our indicators here point to a continuing improvement.  This which will hopefully have enough impact to lower the unemployment rate to 8.5% and bring smiles and paychecks to many job-seekers.

For a more global analysis of the numbers we recommend Bruce Steinberg’s analysis and summary of the report http://www.brucesteinberg.net/Newsletter_web_page.htm .

In the interim we at Berman Larson Kane will continue our community service project offering information webinars to those seeking employment.  We are so flattered that over 40,000 have participated in these sessions.  And my favorite email is from those attendees who declare themselves “webinar dropouts” because they have landed great jobs.  If you would like to learn more or register for one of our future webinars  https://jobsbl.com/jobs/coaching/webinars.php .

I hope my projections are correct as this economy continues to generate work for all those that seek.  We still have a long way to go and a few wild cards could have a negative effect on job creation including the rapidly rising price of a gallon of gas. OUCH!
