Purchasing Manager

Our Client an Electronics Manufacturer with over a decade of success  is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Purchasing Manager to join their team!

Purchasing Manager will take responsibility for supply chain and ensure that production team has everything they need to fulfill customer orders.  Will plan and purchase product components, run a small purchasing and logistics team, negotiate with vendors, and collaborate closely with Production, Front Office, and Engineering.

Client has a small, highly collaborative team, and they put the person before the resume. That means both getting the job done right and being someone, they want to work with every day. Maybe you have just a few years of procurement experience, or maybe you have been managing supply chains for decades. Either way, if you love planning, they want to talk with you about coming on board.

The role is full-time, on site in Hackensack at least 60%.

Salary will be appropriate to your level of experience.

Duties:

Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.

Manage and lead the purchasing and logistics team.

Plan purchases to optimize stock levels and cost of goods on hand.

Generate forecasts in coordination with Sales and Marketing

Select prospective vendors and negotiate pricing.

Build and maintain relationships with vendors.

Review and process purchase orders

Evaluate vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.

Coordinate with Production to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.

Ensure quality of procured items and address problems when they arise.

Work with Engineering and material requirements to ensure consistent flow of materials to support Production.

Develop inventory controls to identify demands.

Qualifications

Experience working in an ERP/MRP and Excel

A reputation for taking initiative and responsibility.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Strong analytical and communication skills

Knowledge of these terms: PO, BOL, BOM, CPU

A knack for negotiation

Persistence in problem solving.

A zealous attention to detail

Additional Pluses:

Supervisory experience

Degree and/or certification in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Distribution or related fields

Additional knowledge of ERP, CRM, or project management software
