Human Resource Administrator

Leading Shipping Company with operations throughout the Northeast is seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and experienced HR Administrator to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of HR files (both electronic and paper) according to established procedures
  • Management of HRIS
  • Processing of all employee transactions
  • Benefit administration including enrollments, billing, and communications
  • Working closely with payroll department regarding input and updates
  • Preparation of on-boarding materials and assisting in the process
  • Liaison with insurance and 401(k) providers
  • Participate in job advertising and recruitment activities
  • Administer FMLA and LOA programs
  • Opening and closing of employee personnel files
  • Main point of contact in Human Resources for all employee calls and inquiries

Requirements:

  • Strong organization, priority setting, time-management, and follow-up skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to develop excel spreadsheets for reporting purposes
  • Must be self-starter and quick to learn
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with customer service attitude
  • Prior experience with automated payroll (Paychex) and HRIS systems strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years HR experience or combination with formal education in the field
  • Experience administering FMLA, LOA, 401k, medical, dental, other benefits plans
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish/English a plus
  • PHR or other certification a plus
