Summary:  Manages staff and processes to achieve annual operational, financial and sales goals for Company

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Ensure sustainable sales growth while closely monitoring the sales process for US and Canada and Technical Support in Canada in strict compliance.
  • Work closely with Finance and the Contract group to follow up on the contracts profitability and assist Finance when necessary for Accounts Receivables
  • Reviews market analysis with marketing to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
  • Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs for US and Canada and technical support programs for Canada.
  • Meets with key customers to maintain relationships and negotiate key deals.
  • Assess selling resource requirements to develop and maintain a highly effective sales and sales management team in US and Canada and Technical Support in Canada.
  • Responsible for the development of the annual US and Canada sales budget and participates in developing the selling strategy, including incentive compensation plan, to achieve instrument sales plan and reagent and consumables goals. Responsible for development of the annual budget and Technical Strategy for Canada.
  • Performs analysis and reports regularly on progress of sales contracts, sales forecasts, and performance against assigned objectives.
  • Leads and manages special related projects.
  • Monitors and evaluates activities, products and strategies of the competition.
  • Promotes cross functional teamwork representing the sales department to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies related to the sales process.
  • Communicates with Marketing and other functional areas on market trends and competitive activity encountered in the field.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required; 7 to 10 years related experience; Minimum 5 years of management experience; MBA preferred.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Up to 60% travel required. Ability to travel internationally.
